Caraustar Closing Virginia Tube Plant

Caraustar Industries Inc. is closing its Franklin, Va., tube plant whose main client, International Paper Co., is shutting down its nearby paper mill, The Tidewater News reports.

Located in Franklin since 1990, the facility produces paperboard tubes used in manufacturing processes for paper mills. The closure will affect 12 full-time employees and was expected news, according to Frank Snyder, human resource director for Caraustar. The Caraustar building will be put up for sale.
