August 16, 2008 Official Board Markets

Packaging Services Inc. of Tennessee has made the Hot100, a new list of emerging companies. Put out by BusinessTN, eligible companies are required to be Tennessee-based, employ at least five people, have revenues in excess of $750,000. To be considered, the companies must demonstrate they have bright future, as well as employee growth, growth over a period of years and growth as compared to industry average.

Packaging Services, based in Greeneville, Tenn., was the brainchild of owners Doug McKee and Scott Sallah. The two were captains in the airborne division at Fort Bragg who wanted to start their own business. Corrugated converting was the third idea they came up with. The company was founded with $250,000 in private funding and now brings in more than $25 million in annual revenues. There are 125 employees at the plant which mainly serves manufacturing industries.
