Bruce Thomas joins MeadWestvaco Corp. as senior vice president, Global Market Strategy and Emerging Markets. In this role, he will drive the Richmond, Va.-based company’s efforts to expand its global footprint and capabilities in emerging markets, with a focus on leading marketing and business development activities with current and new customers in China, India and Eastern Europe.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) names Donna A. Harman acting president and CEO. She succeeds Juanita D. Duggan, who has resigned from the association to pursue other interests.

Harman joined AF&PA in 2001 as vice president of Congressional Affairs. In 2006, she was promoted to senior vice president, Policy and Government Affairs, leading the association’s lobbying and policy efforts.

“With 17 years of experience representing the forest products industry in Washington, D.C., Donna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the association at an important time,” says AF&PA Board Chairman Jim Rubright, president and CEO of Rock-Tenn Co.
