Rusken Pkg Expands, Hires

Rusken Packaging Inc., Cullman, Ala., will hire approximately 50 people at its new plant in Harrisburg, Ark., by Jan. 1, and another 150 within the next three years. Rusken Packaging will open the plant by Sept. 1, spokesman Boyd Jackson says.
The corrugated container industry is suffering like the overall economy, Jackson said, but several factors led to the expansion.
“In a down market, we got a deal on the facility we’re going into, or we feel like it is,” he says.
Also, Rusken tries to place facilities within 300 miles of its 450,000-sq-ft Cullman box plant.
