May 19, 2007 By: Packaging online staff Official Board MarketsThe Markens Group’s “Machine Hour Rate and Profit Planning Fundamentals Workshop” will be held June 4-5 near Hartford, Conn.
In addition to learning how to design a budget and create usable machine hour rates, each participant is taught both the theory and practical application of profit planning, specifically tailored to the converting industry.
Designed as a fundamental course full of practical management tools, the program is suitable for anyone needing a more systematic approach to identifying and evaluating cost. Ben Markens, president and lead teacher, says that it can be especially useful as an introduction for employees new to the converting industry.
Students return with all templates, formulas and forms necessary to replicate the process when they return home. The workshop includes nearly unlimited telephone support when students return home, and CPE credit is available for 14 hours.
Continental breakfast, breaks and lunches both days are provided and there is an informal get-together Monday evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
“We cover a lot of ground and work participants very hard, but we also do our very best to see that everyone finds the entire experience satisfying and fun,” Markens says.
